Kenneth Cox Construction Complaints Policy
Every job runs through us at some point, and once in a while something is wrong. This page tells you how to say so: who reads your complaint, what happens after you send it, and how the 2-year written warranty on our work fits in.
Complaints go to Kenneth Cox. You describe the problem in writing or by phone, we set a time to look at the work with you standing there, and you get an answer from a person rather than a form letter.
If we still disagree after that, you have outside options, including our BBB accreditation and the usual routes open to any Maine homeowner. Written records help, so keep your contract, your change orders and any photos you took along the way.

The Kenneth Cox Construction complaints policy exists because things occasionally go wrong on a building project, and how a company handles that is the part that matters.
Tell us early. A problem raised in week two is far easier to put right than the same problem raised at the end.
How the Kenneth Cox Construction complaints policy works
Call Ken directly on 207-386-9235. That is the fastest route and it goes straight to the owner rather than into a queue.
If you would rather put it in writing, email info@kennethcoxconstruction.com or write to 128 New England Road, Searsmont, ME 04973.
What Should You Include in a Complaint?
- What the problem is, and where on the property
- When you first noticed it
- Photographs, if the issue is something visible
- What outcome you are looking for
None of that is mandatory. A phone call describing the problem is enough to start.
What Happens After You Submit a Complaint?
- We acknowledge it within two business days. You will know we have it and who is dealing with it.
- We come and look. For anything on a live project or under warranty, we inspect in person rather than judging it from a description.
- We tell you what we found and what we propose, in writing, with a timeframe.
- We do the work. If the fault is ours, we put it right at our cost.
Most complaints are resolved inside two weeks. Where a repair depends on weather, material lead times or another trade, we will tell you that up front and give you a realistic date.
What Happens If We Disagree About a Complaint?
Sometimes an inspection shows the cause is something other than our workmanship. If that happens, we will explain what we found and why, and we will still tell you what it would take to fix it.
You are always free to seek an independent opinion. We will cooperate with a third-party inspection.
How Does Our Workmanship Warranty Apply?
Our workmanship warranty runs two years from completion, in writing, on every project. Manufacturer warranties on materials run separately and for their own terms.
Kenneth Cox Construction is BBB accredited, and you may also raise a concern through the Better Business Bureau if you would prefer a third party involved.
How Do We Handle Complaint Records?
We keep a record of every complaint, what caused it and how it was resolved.
That record gets reviewed, because the same fault appearing twice usually points at a process rather than an accident.
